In Moldova, JAA focused on job skills development to create connections between the private sector and the labor force across several industries – including Wine and Tourism, ICT, and Apparel. Work was carried out for the tourism sector to identify the skills development gap and private sector needs, looking at future anticipated workforce needs aligned with the countries growth and development strategies. The JAA team built on existing relationships with private sector firms and associations in tourism to expand cooperation to incorporate workforce development such as job skills training activities, support for job fairs, and support for the development of career training and preparation of students. Priority was placed on support to develop sustainable training programs that ensure high levels of certification and placement within industry, and encouraged industry collaboration, sponsorship and leadership of future programs where possible.
