JAA supported the design and implementation of regional tourism strategies that emphasized the sustainable use of natural resources, local economic development, and institutional coordination. The project worked extensively in ecologically rich regions such as Adjara, Svaneti, and Kakheti, developing site-specific action plans, improving tourism infrastructure, and enhancing visitor experiences while preserving environmental integrity. JAA team promoted ecotourism as a tool for inclusive rural growth by linking biodiversity with economic opportunity through nature-based tourism products, such as hiking trails, eco- lodges, birdwatching circuits, and agritourism initiatives. It introduced responsible tourism practices and eco-certification schemes, encouraging private sector investment aligned with conservation objectives. JAA also facilitated strong stakeholder engagement, building partnerships between local authorities, community groups, protected area managers, and tourism businesses. Capacity-building initiatives trained local guides and SMEs in sustainable tourism operations, environmental interpretation, and service quality, demonstrating a scalable model for community empowerment.
