JAA has been engaged to develop a Sustainable Tourism Management Plan for Bar Harbor, Maine, focused on achieving a balance between economic, environmental, and social wellbeing while continuing to build and expand its thriving tourism industry. Through a 16-month process, including extensive community engagement, JAA is developing the tourism management plan in line with the management objectives of the Bar Harbor 2035 Comprehensive plan:

A. Equity – Ensuring fair access to resources and opportunities for the entire community.

B. Sustainability – Preserving natural and cultural assets for future generations.

C. Efficiency – Optimizing resource use to minimize negative impacts.

D. Resilience – Strengthening the community’s ability to adapt to changing conditions.
